You spoke out...we listened!  At the September Speakouts, you asked for a less-expensive social with dancing.  You got it, and we look forward to seeing you there!  Join us for the 85th Anniversary Soiree at the Francis Marion Hotel Thursday, February 5th as we commemorate our League’s 85 years of service to the community.  Don’t miss this opportunity to mingle with friends, browse memorabilia and enjoy music provided by The Travis Allison Band.  We’ll have light hors devours and a cash bar beginning at 6:30 pm. Ticket sales ($40 a person) will begin on Monday January 5th, 2009.

Impact 

Since 1923, the Junior League has served our community by developing collaborative programs with other community agencies and serving as a catalyst for positive change in areas ranging from education to child abuse to feeding the homeless. This year, the League will invest more than 15,000 hours in volunteer community service work and will invest more than $100,000 in the community through Community Assistance Grants and through support of its community projects.

Community Involvement

The purpose of the Junior League of Charleston Inc.'s Community Events Calendar is to provide nonprofit organizations in the tri-county area a comprehensive calendar of all events. This calendar is a resource for other nonprofits, Junior League members and also the general public. The purpose of posting an event on this calendar is to provide the public with information on events to attend, participate in, or with which to volunteer. Those organizations interested in posting their events on the Community Calendar should meet one of the focus areas of the Junior League of Charleston, Inc.'s mission and be a registered nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.

The following organizations are restricted from posting: political, religious or other organizations when the benefits are limited exclusively to their members. (i.e. teaching Sunday school classes for your church, assisting with fundraising efforts for lobbying or political campaigns) are not considered eligible. All events should be open to the public.
