Southern chefs and amateurs alike have long found a place for the Charleston Receipts cookbook in their kitchens, with pages lovingly dog-eared and food splattered. Now, The Junior League of Charleston, Inc. (JLC) is republishing a little red cookbook, called Charleston Recipes, first published in 1949 that pre-dates the famous culinary manual.
For the second year in a row, the Junior League of Charleston has partnered with Trident Tech to host Kids in the Kitchen, a week-long culinary boot camp at the Columbus Street Campus. Kids ages 8-17 years-old from all over the Charleston area, applied for the camp scholarships to attend. They get the chance to learn about healthy eating habits, cooking for their families and just to have fun in the kitchen.
The Southern Women’s Show finally makes its Charleston debut! It’s all about great shopping, healthy living, cooking, trendy fashion, celebrity guests, prizes, and more! Junior League of Charleston will be one of many vendors taking part in the September 23-25, 2016 event at the Charleston Area Convention Center, showcasing our efforts and selling copies of our acclaimed Charleston Receipts cookbook!
