CHARLESTON, SC – The Junior League of Charleston® named their 2015–2016 annual award winners at their General Membership Meeting held August 22, 2016. The awards are given to one active, one sustainer and one provisional member in recognition of her outstanding and unselfish service to the community. In addition to being nominated by her peers, a $250 gift is made to the nonprofit of the recipient’s choosing.

“This year’s recipients embody the spirit of a Junior League woman, demonstrated by their commitment to their community in their personal and professional lives,” said Elizabeth Burwell, president, Junior League of Charleston. “It is hoped that through these awards, members of the Junior League of Charleston will be encouraged and inspired to use their League training, League resources and their own personal abilities to strive to significantly impact the Charleston community.” Award recipients are nominated by their peers and chosen by a committee.
